AfriSam is presently seeking a skilled and experienced Boilermaker to join our team in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and equipment to ensure efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication and Assembly:

• Construct and assemble boiler components and metal structures using welding, cutting, and shaping techniques.
• Follow blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.

Maintenance and Repair:

• Perform regular maintenance and repairs on existing boilers and metal structures to ensure optimal functionality.
• This includes inspecting for defects and addressing issues promptly.

Welding:

• Execute various welding tasks, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding, to join metal parts and components.
• Ensure all welds meet quality and safety standards.

Cutting and Shaping:

• Use cutting torches, grinders, and other tools to shape and cut metal parts to precise measurements.
• Ensure all parts fit together correctly.

Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure equipment is in safe working condition.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with other team members, including engineers, technicians, and plant operators, to ensure seamless operations and timely project completion.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Document any changes or modifications made to equipment or structures.

Quality Control:

• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.
• Make necessary adjustments or corrections as needed.

Problem-Solving:

• Identify and troubleshoot issues related to boilers and metal structures.
• Develop effective solutions to address problems and improve efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

• Must have a relevant trade certification or qualification in Boilermaking.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is also required.

Experience:

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Boilermaker in an industrial or manufacturing setting is essential.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in welding, cutting, and metal fabrication techniques.
• Familiarity with various welding equipment and tools.

Blueprint Reading:

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.

Problem-Solving:

• Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address issues effectively.

Attention to Detail:

• Keen attention to detail to ensure precision in fabrication and assembly work.

Safety Awareness:

• Comprehensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Reliability:

• Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Communication Skills:
